Educators
School Programs
MassBioEd partners with underserved schools to ensure student access to authentic life sciences in the classroom. Qualifying schools or districts can partner with MassBioEd through the multi-year ACCESS Program or the TOTE Equipment Lending Program.
Aligned Curricular and Career Experiences for Secondary Science (ACCESS Program)
The ACCESS Program brings teachers, administrators, and scientists together to provide partner districts or schools with hands-on life science lab lessons and career experiences for students in grades 6-10. Teachers in all participating grades receive training and practice with ACCESS Program lessons and equipment as well as in-school (or remote) coaching and mentoring to incorporate ACCESS Program lessons and career awareness into existing curriculum.

The ACCESS Program focuses on three key elements:
- Student-centered learning and career awareness
- Intensive district-wide teacher training and support that creates independence and sustainability
- All required materials, equipment, and supplies

Access Biotechnology After-School Program
Access Biotech is an after-school program designed to keep high school students engaged in science while exploring real-world careers in the life sciences. Through hands-on laboratory activities, career panels with industry professionals, company visits, and workshops, students gain insight into pathways in biotechnology and related fields. The program supports students as they consider college majors, career training programs, and future careers in science.

Access Biotech can be implemented in partnership with schools and organizations and can complement academic courses, Career Technical Education (CTE), Innovation Career Pathways (ICP), or vocational programs. We also collaborate with classroom teachers, guidance counselors, and existing student clubs to integrate career exploration opportunities that fit the needs and interests of each school community.
