The Director, Career Development will work closely with stakeholders across the Massachusetts Life Sciences Industry and academia in order to develop impactful strategies. The Director will focus on increasing diversity within the life sciences sector and creating opportunities for talent from all educational levels to thrive in this sector. This is a newly created role for MassBioEd and presents a unique opportunity to strengthen MassBioEd’s capabilities in order to grow and develop talent in the Massachusetts life sciences workforce. This is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Director. Our growing team is seeking an experienced and motivated Controller to handle all accounting functions for MassBioEd. Working as a department of one, the Controller will be responsible for all accounting activities, including hands on responsibility for technical accounting, audit, reporting and insurance. In addition, they will prepare monthly financial statements, maintain all subsidiary ledgers and account reconciliations, prepare financial audit work papers and schedules, process AP and AR transactions, and prepare and maintain grant reimbursement schedules. The ideal candidate is a seasoned Controller with experience in a small, fast-paced, non-profit environment.

The BioTeach Instructor and Curriculum Specialist serves as a mentor and coach to middle and high school teachers during lab-based teacher professional development workshops, in-school lab implementation visits, and through remote meetings, emails, and phone calls. The Instructor and Curriculum Specialist is responsible for developing new student-centered lessons that are engaging and aligned with the Massachusetts and NGSS standards.  An ideal candidate has a strong background in biology with teaching experience and is highly self-motivated, professional, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced mission-focused environment.
