About Emily

Emily Harris is the Assistant Director of Workforce Development & Communications at MassBioEd, where she leads the organization’s Professional Training Courses (PTC) and collaborates with life sciences employers to develop workforce solutions that address evolving industry needs. She oversees course strategy, employer partnerships, marketing and communications for the program, and works closely with organizations to deliver professional development opportunities that strengthen leadership, technical expertise, and workforce readiness.

Prior to joining MassBioEd, Emily spent nearly a decade in research and biotechnology, including four years as a Project Manager at a contract research organization. Her firsthand experience in the industry provides valuable insight into the challenges employers face in attracting, developing, and retaining talent, and informs her practical approach to workforce development.

Emily is passionate about building partnerships between employers, educators, and workforce organizations to expand access to high-quality professional development and create meaningful career pathways throughout the life sciences industry. She believes that investing in people is essential to advancing innovation and strengthening the future of the life sciences workforce.

Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience from Wright State University and a Master of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Developmental Neuroscience from New York University.
