Exploring Macromolecules

Tired of all that glassware? This lab provides an innovative approach to testing macromolecules using just drops of reagents and plastic painter’s palettes (or glass slides). Our “micro approach to macromolecules” reduces supplies drastically—reagents for a class of 30 fits in a sandwich bag! Unlike most macromolecule labs, this lab includes testing for DNA. Participants will test standards and use that information to test macromolecules in food samples.
