Awardee: Tyngsborough High School
When: March 6th 2:30-3:30 pm
Where: Tyngsborough High School

Background:
Joshua Boger Innovative School of the Year Award The Joshua Boger Innovative School of the Year Award recognizes a New England high school that distinguishes itself through exemplary school-wide educational programming in the life sciences. The award was named in honor of Joshua Boger, Ph.D. to recognize his sustained commitment to excellence in science education. The Boger Family Foundation awards the school with $5,000 to be used for equipment and supplies to support the life sciences.

Tyngsborough High School has been selected to receive this award in recognition of its unequivocal devotion to providing students with accessible, hands-on learning opportunities in STEM through its robust curricula. Science educators have successfully managed to ignite the minds of curious students in grades 9-12 enrolled in courses such as forensics, general biology, marine biology, and various scientific-focused clubs. Approximately 45 percent of the student-wide population is directly impacted by the BioTeach-sponsored equipment, additional STEM-focused curricula and the training teachers have participated in, and activities that teachers deliver that encourage students to critically analyze information and enhance their development of informed decision-making.

MassBioEd and Tyngsborough High School welcome local officials and representatives to the presentation of the 2022 Joshua Boger Innovative School of the Year Award, followed by light refreshments and the opportunity to meet with and congratulate faculty and students.
