Description

Preparing for Effective Presentations is an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to help participants build confidence and competence in preparing and delivering clear, engaging, and impactful presentations. Participants develop practical skills across all stages of presentation preparation—from understanding their audience and shaping a clear message to designing visually effective slides and delivering content with poise and authority.

Through a mix of instruction, group activities, and individual practice, the course addresses common presentation challenges and provides tools for engaging diverse audiences, communicating complex ideas clearly, and responding effectively to unexpected moments. Participants leave with practical techniques they can immediately apply to improve both the clarity and confidence of their presentations.

Who should attend? This course is ideal for individuals looking to strengthen their presentation skills, particularly those who are newer to presenting or who want support in communicating scientific concepts and data to broad or non-technical audiences. It is also especially beneficial for anyone who experiences a anxiety around public speaking and is seeking practical strategies to build confidence and comfort when presenting.

Valerie is a leadership educator with over 25 years of experience working with organizations across industries including healthcare, biotechnology, manufacturing, finance, and education. She supports leaders and teams in building emotional intelligence, strengthening communication, and developing effective leadership practices. Known for her engaging and interactive style, Valerie holds an MBA from Boston University and is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
