This online workshop introduces teachers to a 3-day, classroom-ready case study designed for middle school students that investigates the connection between food allergies and the gut microbiome. Participants will experience how students analyze authentic data, role-play science professionals, and collaborate in expert groups and jigsaw discussions to support evidence-based decision-making. The workshop highlights strategies for building grade-appropriate content knowledge about the gut microbiome while strengthening students’ collaboration, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
