Our direct-to-student programs are designed to inspire diverse middle school, high school, and college learners to explore life sciences careers. These experiential events in and outside of the classroom expose students to the wide array of opportunities in the life sciences industry by connecting them to professionals from academia and companies in the industry.
Career Information and Resources
Our BioTalent program provides resources that increase student awareness and understanding of the variety of career opportunities in the life sciences. Resources include career information that can be easily integrated into the classroom and accessible to students.
Career Exploration Programs
The Career Ambassador Program builds a critical bridge between classroom and careers. Ambassadors help broaden students’ horizons and encourage an interest in the life sciences. The program is designed to inspire and motivate the next generation of life sciences professionals by providing students with access to industry experts who will share their unique experiences with the students in engaging conversations.
Schools can host an individual or a panel of speakers to discuss their career paths with students. Presentations can be held online or in person.
Career Exploration events bring students to industry laboratories, work spaces, and offices to learn about a company’s mission and culture, interact directly with professionals, participate in science demonstrations, and tour company facilities. Students learn about the range of career opportunities that include scientific and non-scientific roles. These events give students the opportunity to experience the connection between life sciences curriculum and the groundbreaking scientific innovation that drives the life sciences in Massachusetts. These events are currently being hosted remotely. Register for Career Exploration Week, April 12th-16th below. There are no upcoming events at this time.
College Exploration events bring students to university and college campuses, where they can interact with faculty and current students, and observe or engage in laboratory experiences. Participants learn about the dynamic opportunities fundamental in college science programs through hands-on experiences and tours of labs, facilities, and campuses. Our goal is to demystify the college experience, expose students to life sciences fields of study, and encourage students to pursue life sciences education and careers. These events are not being offered online.
College & Career Exploration Day events are to showcase a wide array of educational opportunities and diverse fields of study in college life sciences programs. Through rapid-paced mentoring sessions, students learn first-hand from industry volunteers about the professionals’ unique qualifications, educational backgrounds, and interests that brought them to life sciences careers, as well as the contribution each of their roles make in this exciting industry. These events are currently being hosted remotely. Registration for College and Career Exploration Day will open in fall 2021!
