Ahmad Hussin
Senior Director and General Manager, Viral Vector Services, Thermo Fisher Scientific
Ahmad Hussin is currently Senior Director and General Manager of Site Operations at Thermofisher Viral Vector Services in Lexington, Massachusetts and is responsible for oversight of start-up activities, technology transfer, as well as transforming the clinical and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) manufacturing site into a multi-product/multi-client facility serving both small innovator companies as well as larger industry leaders. He has held previous roles at Thermofisher as the Head of Manufacturing Operations and Site Quality Head.
Following his completion of a Bachelor of Science in Physics, with a concentration in Radiological Science from the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Ahmad began his career over seventeen years ago in Manufacturing Operations at Wyeth Biotech in Andover, MA, prior to the Pfizer acquisition. At Wyeth/Pfizer he worked on a range of commercially available mammalian cell line products, including products targeted for the treatment of rare diseases. Ahmad also spent several years working across technical and quality disciplines at Bristol-Myers Squibb and Lonza Biologics, supporting new product introductions and commercial product launch. His move to Thermofisher in 2019 allowed him to expand into the cell and gene therapy area of biotech to further utilize his skills of growing and developing high performing teams and start-up of a manufacturing facility.
