A Message From Our Executive Director

Mar 26, 2020

Dear MassBioEd Partners,

We hope you and your families are healthy and safe. As we all adapt to continuously evolving circumstances, it is important that we work together to ensure our industry and educators are supported as they work to meet the demand of patients and students in our communities.

The global pandemic caused by COVID-19 is shining a spotlight on the critical importance of the life sciences workforce:

  • Scientists and technicians are working around the clock to gain expertise on this virus;
  • Clinical trial managers are designing experiments to develop vaccines and cures;
  • Computational scientists are deciphering the epidemiological patterns spreading across the globe;
  • Engineers are reconfiguring manufacturing operations to rapidly produce essential medical devices and diagnostic kits as quickly as humanly possible.

Today and tomorrow’s miracle workers are in our hands. MassBioEd’s mission is to build and sustain the life sciences workforce in Massachusetts with a focus on expansion, opportunity, and diversityOur team remains focused on delivering resources to the science educators at schools who need immediate support in providing remote learning to their students, and adapting our career awareness and professional development programs to virtually reach a variety of learners.

We look forward to continuing our work together in building and sustaining a skilled life sciences workforce in these critical times.

In community,

Sunny Schwartz
