CRISPR Labs in Your Classroom: editing the bacterial genome

Note* MassBioEd is offering a series of remote workshops that can be used to earn PDPs. Teachers participating in 10 hours of training can earn 10 PDPs. All workshops can be found on our events pageThis workshop with associated homework qualifies for 7 hours towards PDPs.

CRISPR-Cas9 genome engineering is revolutionizing modern medicine technologies!

Learn how to perform true CRISPR gene editing using the BIO-RAD kit. Through a hands-on lab performed at home under the guidance of a BioTeach instructor, teachers will learn how to safely apply CRISPR-Cas9 technology to disrupt the lacZ gene in E. coli to produce a visual phenotype that can be readily seen through blue-white screening.
