2020 Champions for Biotechnology Education, 5th Annual Awards Reception

Each year, MassBioEd honors an educator, a school, and an organization for their efforts to empower students to enter careers in the life sciences. This year, we will also honor an outstanding college student for their dedication to pursuing biotechnology in college. This online Awards Reception will showcase the dedication of the life sciences community in engaging students in authentic science educational experiences. The event also highlights and supports the year-round education and workforce development programs of MassBioEd. Stay tuned for our 2020 Awardees!

The Josh Boger Innovative School of the Year Award is supported by the Boger Family Foundation in honor of Joshua Boger.

The Champion Educator & Henri A. Termeer Teacher Award and Henri A. Termeer Student Scholarship Award are supported by the Henri A. Termeer Foundation in honor of Henri A. Termeer.

Pre-networking will be 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM, followed by the Virtual Reception 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Thank you to our Presenting Sponsor Alnylam Pharmaceuticals!

Because this is a FREE event, we invite you to make a donation to support our work with teachers in high-need school districts to integrate vertically aligned, hands-on life science lessons and college and career experiences across grades 6-12 through our Aligned Curricular and Career Experiences for Secondary Science (ACCESS) Program. ACCESS ensures that, over the course of 4-5 years, students will have multiple meaningful, life sciences experiences that build upon past lessons. Help us impact 15,000 students during the 2020-2021 academic school year through inquiry-based lab activities and career exploration programs.

How to contribute:
1. Make a donation online.
2. Text the word "massbioed" to the number 243725.

Your donation will make the following possible within our ACCESS program:

All proceeds from this virtual event benefit the MassBioEd's mission to build and sustain a strong, diverse workforce in the life sciences. The pandemic has highlighted the critical importance of the life sciences. As we continue to develop and integrate on-line programs for teachers, students and schools, the need to educate the next generation of scientists, promote career opportunities within the industry to under-served communities, and bring in new skilled workers is more important than ever. To learn more, visit MassBioEd.org.

We are committed to meeting this challenge and hope you will join us.

Details to join will be provided in advance of the event. For any questions, please contact communications@massbioed.org.
