Incorporating Biotechnology Skills and Equipment in your Classroom (East Boston)

This workshop is being offered to Boston Public School (BPS) teachers from the following schools: Edward M. Kennedy Academy for Health Careers, John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, Boston Day and Evening Academy, Boston Arts Academy, Boston International High School, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, Burke HS, New Mission HS and East Boston HS. Please note that BPS teachers from other schools are welcome to attend as space allows. Please register now and we will follow up by email if space is available.

Participants will use the same equipment as was purchased and delivered to each grant school to complete labs involving dye and DNA gel electrophoresis, bacterial transformation, and PCR that are standards-aligned and content relevant to any general biology class.

This workshop qualifies for 10 PDPs based upon completion of the designated pre- and post-workshop assignments. For more information on receiving graduate credit by attending BioTeach workshops, please contact Michelle Mischke.
