The Biomedical Laboratory and Clinical Sciences (BLCS) program offers a 128-credit B.S. degree as well as two 16-credit certificates - one in biotechnology, one in clinical research. The BLCS program is a joint program between Boston University's School of Medicine and Metropolitan College. It offers courses in the evenings and on Saturdays at reduced tuition. Since 1987, the BLCS program has developed courses in conjunction with the MA biotech industry & collaboration helps meet needs of both students and companies. School of Medicine faculty and graduate students, as well as industry experts, teach interactive classes to biotech company employees, job changers and others eager to participate in this vital sector of our economy. Hands-on practical skills are emphasized within a theoretical framework. Program advisors assist students to find jobs.
